What is a device?
A device is something adapted for a specific purpose.
What devices can be used in school for communication?
Phone: Able to make calls and text.
Laptop: Able to host meetings easily.
Walkie Talkie: Able to communicate with people via telephone line.
PC: Same thing as laptop.
Watch: Some watches like the Apple Watch allow you to make calls.
Headphones: Able to listen and block out other noise.
Tablet: Same thing as phone.
How it helps for communication:
It allows for close friends or family to know where you are and if you are okay or not. It also allows for longer relationships with online friends.
History of the phone:
1815: The first phone was invented.
1973: Motorola invented the first mobile phone.
2007: Apple revolutionized the phone market.
History of the laptop:
Pre 1990: The first laptops were invented.
After 1990: Laptops got less heavy.
History of the walkie talkie:
1937: The first walkie talkie was invented.
1942: The walkie talkie was used in the military.

Early 1970s: The first PC was invented.
1977: The Apple II was invented.

2001: Earbuds began to rise in popularity.

Mid - Late 1980s: Many companies developed tablets.
1999: Microsoft started development on the tablet.
2010: Apple dominated the tablet market.
